February 5, the American politician, businessman, public figure, US Secretary of Defense (1994 — 1997) William Perry will meet with young scientists, students, teachers. We invite those who are interested in the relations between Russia and the United States, the problems of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and issues of arms control.

William James Perry
an American mathematician, engineer, and businessman who was the United States Secretary of Defense from February 3, 1994, to January 23, 1997, under President Bill Clinton.
An expert in U.S. foreign policy, national security and arms control, a senior fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution.
Perry was a founding board member of the Nuclear Threat Initiative, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organisation working to reduce the threat of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. Member of the Supervisory Council of the International Luxembourg Forum on Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe.
Perry used the Cooperative Threat Reduction Act of 1992 (the Nunn-Lugar program), which provided funds for the dismantling of nuclear weapons in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, to diminish the nuclear threat. In 2007 – 2013, Perry together with former Secretaries of State George Shultz and Henry Kissinger, and former Senator Sam Nunn published a number of articles in calling for the United States to take the lead in reducing and eliminating nuclear weapons.
In 2013 he founded the William J. Perry Project, a non-profit effort to educate the public on the current dangers of nuclear weapons.
